Official Programme for the 2014 Nobel Week

6 December

  • Laureates' Get-together at the Nobel Museum, 9.40 a.m.– 1.00 p.m. CET 
    Each year, when the Nobel Laureates arrive in Stockholm, a small gathering, a get-together, is held at the Nobel Museum in Stockholm. The laureates get the opportunity to meet each other, the Nobel Foundation and to hear about what is going to happen during the Nobel Week. The Nobel Laureates are always asked to bring with them to Stockholm an object, or artefact that have mattered to them, to their work, to their creative process and the Laureates also traditionally sign a chair at the museum.


  • Press conference for the Laureate in Literature at the Swedish Academy, 12.00 CET

  • Press conference for the Laureates in Physiology or Medicine, 2.00 p.m. CET

  • Dinner hosted by the Nobel Committee for Physiology or Medicine, 7.00 p.m. CET

  • Dinner hosted by the Economic Sciences Prize Committee, 7.30 p.m. CET

 

7 December

  • Press Conference for the Laureates in Physics, Chemistry and Economic Sciences, 9.00 a.m. CET 

  • Nobel Lectures in Physiology or Medicine, at Karolinska Institutet,  1.00 p.m. CET. 
    Each laureate gives a public lecture on a subject related to the topic of their prize. The Nobel Lectures are free of charge and open to the public.

  • Reception for the Laureates in Physiology or Medicine, 4.00 - 6.00 p.m. CET

  • Nobel Lecture in Literature at the Swedish Academy, 5.30 p.m. CET
    Dinner hosted by the Swedish Academy for the Laureate in Literature, 7.00 p.m. CET

  • Dinner for the Laureates in Physics, Chemistry and Economic Sciences hosted by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, 7.00 p.m. CET

 

8 December

  • Nobel Lectures in Physics, Chemistry and Economic Sciences in Aula Magna, Stockholm University, 9.00 a.m. CET

  • Nobel Prize Concert, at the Stockholm Concert Hall, 7.00 p.m. CET 
    The Nobel Prize Concert is a classical music concert of the highest international standard, arranged every year by Nobel Media in cooperation with the Stockholm Concert Hall. The concert is part of the official Nobel Week program and held in honor of the current year's Nobel Laureates.

 

9 December

  • Nobel Week Dialogue – The Age to Come, 9.30 a.m. - 5.00 p.m. CET, Stockholm City Conference
    The purpose of this annual event is to stimulate discussion at the highest level on a topical, science-related theme by bringing together Nobel Laureates, the world's leading scientists, key opinion leaders, policy makers, different interest groups and the general public.

  • Lunch for the Laureates in Economic Sciences at Sveriges Riksbank, 12.30 - 2.30 p.m. CET

  • Reception hosted by the Nobel Foundation and the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences at the Nordic Museum, 6.00 - 8.00 p.m. CET

  • Taping of the TV-program Nobel Minds, 1.00 p.m. - 4.00 p.m. CET 
    Each year, the Nobel Laureates in the fields of Science, Economic Sciences and Literature gather around a table at the Royal Bernadotte Library in Stockholm and talk about issues of global concern as well as their own respective fields of research. The Laureates speak about their backgrounds and the early influences that put them on the road to receiving the Nobel Prize. 

  • Royal Banquet at the Royal Palace, 7.30 p.m. CET

  • Opening of the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize exhibition at the Nobel Peace Center, Oslo, 4.15 p.m. - 5.30 p.m. CET 

  • Nobel Peace Prize Concert, Oslo Spektrum, 7.30 p.m. – 9.00 p.m. CET. 

 

12 December

The Laureates make individual visits to the Nobel Foundation
