This year’s recipients are Emily Williams and Mark Turiansky, selected by the awards committee for dissertations with “significant impact on the field in terms of methodological and substantive contributions.”


On May 3, 2022, UC Santa Barbara held the Chancellor's Staff Celebration Luncheon. Recognized were 10 Staff Citation Award recipients, of which Tara Owens was one of them.
The UCSB Staff Assembly is pleased to announce its 2021-2022 Staff Citation of Excellence Awards Program. The purpose of the program is to acknowledge and celebrate outstanding achievements and meritorious service of career staff. Ten awards will be made; each recipient will receive $500 and a plaque. Presentation of awards will be made during the Staff Celebration Week Luncheon at noon.

Scientific Lecture by Dr. Shuji Nakamura, the UofL 2019 Leigh Ann Conn Prize for Renewable Energy Laureate. A world-leading pioneer in sustainable energy technology, Nakamura is recognized for his solid-state light-emitting diodes (LED) technology. His LEDs have 10 times the efficiency of incandescent lighting, twice the efficiency of fluorescents and last 30 to 40 years.
