The SSLEEC research scope is significantly broadening this year and we are at the forefront of revolutionizing a diverse range of photonic and electronic applications due to the superior characteristics of GaN and related wide-bandgap semiconductors. In photonic technology, GaN-based LEDs and lasers stand out for their high output power, efficiency, durability, and compact size, playing a crucial role in applications such as high-definition projectors, Micro-LED Displays, quantum computing light sources, LiFi, biomedical uses, energy generation and industrial machinery. In the realm of electronics, GaN is being applied to improve the conversion efficiency of electricity, power adapters, and advancement of 5G technology due to their capability of supporting high-frequency operations. Hence, through its exceptional properties, GaN-based semiconductors and the LEDs, VCVSELs, Micro-LEDs, Lasers, HEMTs, CAVETs and power transistors that SSLEEC is working on are significantly driving the evolution and advancement of numerous photonic and electronic applications. We will share our latest research results and intellectual property in these areas during the review.
