Responsible for lab equipment management, working with Facilities to design new laboratories and upgrade lab spaces, and working with UCSB Environmental Health and Safety and the County Fire Marshal to comply with all safety regulations for research facilities.

Research Advisor with several decades of experience inventing and developing InP and GaN based laser diodes and photonic integrated circuits for communication, biochemical sensing, data storage, solid state lighting, displays and LIDAR. Expertise includes device design, fabrication, testing and analysis. Recent projects have included high power and high efficiency lasers, VCSELs, and ultraviolet lasers.
