Learn cleanroom fabrication from university researchers who use it everyday!
The 1-week Cleanroom Bootcamp gives students hands-on experience in semiconductor fabrication—no prior cleanroom experience needed. In just one week, participants get 27 hours in the CNSI cleanroom, process two wafers, and learn core fabrication methods used in both research labs and industry.
One of our TAs, Roark Chao, brings real-world research experience directly into the classroom. Roark is an active UCSB researcher and recently presented his work on microLEDs at SPIE Photonics West, a leading international conference in photonics.
Our TAs aren’t just teaching the tools—they’re using them to push the field forward. It’s a great way for students to build practical skills, learn from peers doing cutting-edge research, and explore pathways into nanofabrication and semiconductors.
