Professor Umesh Mishra named new Dean of the College of Engineering

UC Santa Barbara Chancellor Henry T. Yang announced on Wednesday afternoon that Umesh Mishra will be the next dean of the College of Engineering, effective July 1, 2023. Mishra has served as a Distinguished Professor and the Donald W. Whittier Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UCSB since 1990. An elected member of the National Academy of Engineering, Mishra's research focuses on Gallium Nitride (GaN) and Aluminum Gallium Nitride-based materials, devices, and technology for electronic and opto-electronic applications.
