Srabanti Chowdhury (UCSB alumnae) elevated to IEEE Fellow
Congratulations to Professor Srabanti Chowdhury on being elected as an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Fellow. Her citation reads, “for contributions to cortical control of movement and brain-computer interfaces.” Srabanti is a senior Fellow at the Precourt Institute for Energy and courtesy professor of Materials Science and Engineering.
Srabanti’s research is in the wideband gap (WBG) and ultra-wide bandgap (UWBG) materials and device engineering, prioritizing energy-efficient system architecture for power and RF applications, with a focus on thermal management.
IEEE Fellow is a distinction reserved for select IEEE members whose extraordinary accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest are deemed fitting of this prestigious grade elevation. The grade of Fellow recognizes unusual distinction in the profession and shall be conferred only by invitation of the Board of Directors upon a person of outstanding and extraordinary qualifications and experience in IEEE-designated fields, and who has made important individual contributions to one or more of these fields.
