Professor Kroemer received numerous national and international honors and awards for his work, most notably the 2000 Nobel Prize in Physics "for developing semiconductor heterostructures used in high-speed- and opto-electronics," and the 2002 IEEE Medal of Honor.

Dr. Panpan Li is a postdoctoral researcher in the materials Department at UCSB. She works on DFB Lasers, Micro-LEDs, LEDs and UV laser diodes. Her activity involves the MOCVD growth, chip fabrication, and testing of DFB GaN Laser Diodes and MicroLEDs.
